GLFA Scholarship Application

Directions for filling out an application:

  • Read the entire application form thoroughly to best understand the information needed to complete the form.
  • You will need to submit a letter of recommendation from acceptable references. Examples of acceptable references include former or current employers, instructors, or past teachers, GLFA members, or others in positions of responsibility that can objectively speak to your qualities. (Does not include relatives or close friends.)
  • Be sure to answer all questions and complete form in its entirety.
  • You must submit a digital photo with your application or it will be disqualified. If you are
    chosen for a scholarship this will be used for publication in the Professional Florist magazine
    only.

All forms must be submitted by June 30th in order to be eligible for consideration. Scholarships awarded will be valid through December 31st of the following year.

All applications will be kept strictly confidential and retained by the Great Lakes Floral Association (GLFA) office.

Scholarship Application

  • List from earliest to most recent, one per line. Institution, Location, Degree/Award
  • Any training not already listed (ex: workshops, seminars, hands-on classes, specific courses of study). One per line. Institution, Study Program/Course, Credit/Certificate Date
  • Current first, one per line. Date, Employer, Address, Phone, Full/part-time
  • Part of the requirement for this scholarship is financial need. What is your income? (Wages, Salary, Tips as reported on your last Federal Tax Return)
  • Briefly describe your financial need or circumstances surrounding your need for this scholarship.
  • Define your career goals and why you should be awarded a GLFA scholarship.
  • List associations, organizational activities, and any clubs to which you belong.
  • Have you ever received a Great Lakes Floral Association scholarship?
