DESCRIPTION:Professional Development\n\n\n\nKeeping you at the forefront of the floral industry with Professional Development! \n\n\n\nGLFA Education Center PresentsIntermediate Floral Design\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nInstructor: Cindy Ching\, AIFD\,CFMember $1\,500; Non-Member $1\,750 (Includes all flowers/supplies\, fees are non-refundable)WHEN: May 19 – 23\, 2024 (Sun. – Thu.) 9am to 5pmWHERE: GLFA Professional Education Center – 1152 Haslett Rd.\, Haslett\, MI 48840 \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis course builds upon the foundation of the Introduction to Floral design course. The focus will be on theinformation presented in the Certified Florist (CF) Manual with the goal of preparing students to take the CF examination. Students who do not wish to take the CF exam are still welcome. \n\n\n\nThe CF manual is the text for this course. You may purchase this manual at www.greatlakesfloralassociation.org (Certified Florist tab in drop down under the Education tab) or call (517) 575-0110. The manual is recommended but not required. Allother materials will be included in the registration fee. \n\n\n\nTime will be divided between lecture and hands on design. A sample test will be given on each topic. Lecture topics include:care and handling of flowers and plants\, product identification\, customer relations\, sales\, delivery\, marketing\, accounting\, display\, and intermediate floral design. Design topics include: vase arrangements\, bridal bouquets\, corsages\, boutonnieres and sympathy. Designs will incorporate the contemporary techniques of grouping\, layering\, basing\, framing\, and many more. \n\n\n\nEach day you will take home your designs. There are 36 hours of classroom instruction. Since this is a personal enrichment course there will be no exams. Includes all flowers and supplies. Lunch is on your own each day.
