The focus will be on theinformation presented in the Certified Florist (CF) Manual with the goal of preparing students to take the CF examination. \n\n\n\nStudents who do not wish to take the CF exam are still welcome. The CF manual is the text for this course. You may purchase this manual at www.greatlakesfloralassociation.org (Certified Florist tab in drop down under the Education tab) or call (517) 575-0110. The manual is recommended but not required. Allother materials will be included in the registration fee. \n\n\n\nEach day you will take home your designs. There are 36 hours of classroom instruction. Since this is a personal enrichment course there will be no exams. Includes all flowers and supplies. Lunch is on your own each day. DESCRIPTION:Keeping you at the forefront of the floral industry with Professional Development! \n\n\n\nGLFA Education Center Presents\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n“Expand Your Designs with Techniques”\n\n\n\na Hands – On Workshop/Open House\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDon’t miss this chance to learn\, network and share experience with industry peers! This event is open to all industry members. The hands-on workshop is available to the first 20 people who register. Cost to participate in the workshop is $50 for GLFA members and $80 for non-members. Everyone is welcome to watch the workshop. A light meal will be provided for all attendees  \n\n\n\nIn this hands-on workshop you’ll learn how to create profitable designs using different techniques with the same combination of flowers. Techniques shown in this class will include\, armature\, grouping\, hand tying\, pave\, and framing. You will create an armature design that you will get to take home.  \n\n\n\n /technique/ Techniques are used to create a floral design composition; they are the skill sets required to complete an artistic work. \n\n\n\n6:00 – 6:30 (workshop check in\, networking\, shopping) \n\n\n\n6:30 – 7:30 (workshop\, shopping) \n\n\n\n7:30 – 8:00 (networking\, shopping\, wrap up) \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCOST: $50.00 member $80.00 non-member (All attendees are welcome to watch the workshop)Class enrollment is limited to 20REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON – REFUNDABLE! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor: Loann Burke\, AIFD\, AAF\, PFCI\, is an award-winning floral designer and event specialist with Furst Florist in Dayton\, Ohio with over 35 years in the floral industry. A highly sought after speaker and designer\, she shares her passion for flowers through inspirational design seminars\, product demonstrations\, and hands-on workshops around the globe.  Loann won the grand prize in the Sylvia Cup Design Competition\, represented the United States in the World Floral Competition in France\, and currently serves as Design Director for Smithers-Oasis.
